Edward "Ed" H. Davis March 28, 1934 - June 3, 2024 MATTOON - Edward "Ed" H. Davis, age 90, of Mattoon, IL, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Willow Breeze Hospice House in Mattoon, IL. A funeral service in his honor will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, 61938; Reverend Steve Morgan will officiate. A committal service will immediately follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Ed was born on March 28, 1934, in Xenia, IL, to the late Hershel S. and Blanche (Fry) Davis. He married Shirley L. Hamilton on April 24, 1956, in Flora, IL. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Shirley Davis of Mattoon, IL; two daughters: Debra K. Buford and husband Tim of Mattoon, IL, Cynthia L. Vandeventer and husband Mark of Sullivan, IL; six grandchildren: Timothy J. Buford of St. Louis, MO, Teresa L.
