Helen Louise Isom November 11, 1945 - June 8, 2024 MATTOON - Helen Louise Isom, age 78, of Mattoon, IL, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 2:20 PM Odd-Fellow Rebekah. A private family service will be held at Eden Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, located at 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, 61938, is assisting the family with arrangements. Helen was born on November 11, 1945, in Mattoon, IL, to the late Ithiel "Ike" N. and Bettie L. (Louder) Kimball. She married Virgil "Dean" Isom on August 19, 1961. They divorced but later remarried on January 18, 1991; after realizing they could not live without each other. Sadly, he preceded her in death on August 11, 2021. Helen is survived by one brother, Ithiel "Ike" N. Kimball JR. and wife Wanda of Centralia, IL; one sister, Suzanne L. Conner and husband Charles "Chub" of Mattoon, IL; one nephew, William L. Karpus JR of Mattoon, IL; one niece, Vickie Karpus Beavers and husband Rick of Collinsville, IL.
