She was the daughter of Othneil Eugene Janes and Margaret (Nash) Janes.Ruth married Charles "Bill" Fuqua in 1968, and together they built a life centered around family, Jesus, and business. They owned several Charleston businesses, including Fuqua Fertilizer & Chemical, Treasure Island Furniture & Mini Storage, and Coles County Dragway. Ruth enjoyed staying active and found joy in growing flowers, reading, shuffleboard, boating, puzzles, and gathering loved ones at the lake.Ruth served on the Standing Stone Board of Directors as Treasurer and deeply believed in their Christ-centered mission to meet unmet needs in Charleston.
